Picnic in the Park ?
I had the crazy idea of going on a solo picnic in the park. Which park? What to wear? Sunscreen and a hat? Do I reserve a table? Should I get food at the grocery store prior to going to the park? Did you know you can have DoorDash to you in a park? What book to read? Should I do yoga or just wear a dress and be pretty ? ....
Well, then I asked ChatGPT
Outfit essentials: A breezy sundress, comfy Keds (perfect for walking), oversized sunglasses, and a straw hat—cheap insurance against sunny skies and crushed toes on the public transit leg.
-
Portable picnic gear:
-
A lightweight cotton blanket (the grass can hold goose droppings—seriously, bring a barrier!) .
-
A collapsible tote to carry everything—snacks, drinks, journal, coloring book, and a book.
-
Cold drinks: I filled a double-walled stainless tumbler with iced herbal tea plus a chilled bottle of sparkling water.
-
-
Activities:
-
A well-loved paperback to savor under the trees.
-
My journal and a handful of colored pencils for mindful note-taking or doodling.
-
A small colouring book for a relaxing, meditative break.
-
Extras: lightweight sunblock, a refillable water bottle, wet wipes, and a zip pouch for dehydration snacks.
🚍 Getting There via Public Transit
I caught the bus 27 northbound, the main route serving Vasona Park The closest stop is "Los Gatos & Blossom Hill (S)," just a minute’s walk from the park entrance. That ease made carrying all my gear enjoyable, not stressful.
I appreciate ChatGPT it usually tells me something I didn't think of. One idea was for solo picnic was to have an Charcuterie Bento Box which is perfect for finger food where I was thinking of a fully laid out cutting board of fine meats and cheeses. My big thing is sunscreen and bug spray. There use to be this product called Bullfrog it was perfect sunscreen with bug repellent.
Anyway, chatgpt did help in writing this blog post but, so far I have not made to the picnic in the park
