The Coffee Budget : $100 A Month!?!

I wish I was joking about it but the reality is I actually did my budget for February and I spent $100 ( One Hundred Dollars ) on Coffee. That is a medium or large Mocha and possibly with a pastry or donut or Croissant. My average ticket was $7 that is either a medium mocha with a 15% tip or it was $15. There are about three or four places I go and yes, I always leave a tip.

You'd think even at $7 at five times a week that is only $35 a week but times four and you get my problem.

Spending $2000 a year just to drink coffee is a bit much and really not good when I am spending $6000 on transit another $1700 on storage unit $800 on my phone and just over $18K for rent. This is nothing compared to what my credit card balances ($10K +/- $3k) but if you look at what I take home versus my gross how in the world can I afford to live on $40K a year in expenses.

This does not include any dental or medical issues that may or may not have come up. So, I have to figure out the coffee budget. Even if I look at months that I "lowered" my coffee shop stops to twice a week I still spent around $25 a week and I get $100 spent on the liquid that is hot and creamy.

I don't know how to really save money except I do in ways from waiting until I get to work to make coffee there and then grinding my own beans and brewing at home

which sounds good but, even a bag of ground coffee comes in 1/2lb size and costs around $20 though it might last me a bit.

I mean this is not as bad as say my grocery bill of late but that is for another post.

I will revisit this again and again.
