I went to a movie theater : Top Gun Memory Lane

In 1986, my boyfriend at the time called me at home on a Saturday Afternoon and proceeded to yodel the lyrics to the Isley Brothers "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" with his best friend after watching the movie.

I will never ever forget that because it was so sweet. Hence, catching up with the debonair Pete "Maverick" Mitchell some 30 plus years later...well, its still sweet.

This time around I nearly busted out laughing at the repeat theme by Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone" because of F/X show "Archer". The entire movie was action packed with the reintroduction to "Maverick" still disobeying orders and apparently enjoying a "Captain" career courtesy of a friend in high places ...or by text message.

The formula worked except there was a little cherry added. That was Tom Cruise desperation seeping out of every pour from "See Tom Cruise Run" to see "Tom Cruise ride a motorcycle" to "See Tom Cruise ..."
You never ever forget Tom Cruise is the actor and unfortunately it takes you out of the movie because what makes other movies like Tropical Thunder is that Tom Cruise stops and a character takes over.

The story is a nice update....I am just wondering if there isn't a franchise being created here ..Top Gun : Mission Impossible : Minority Report ; Vanilla Sky.

Nah, that be Risky Business for a studio to do that...
