Tax on Food
So, one thing that was talked about this political campaign was the cost of food. Unfortunately, as possibly predicted the candidate whom presumably won the election lied and will not be able to help low income families save money on food.
It is insane that families ( a mother and child, a father and children, grandparents ) are shopping for FOOD TO EAT AT DOLLAR TREE. In 2024, Dollar Tree changed from being $1 to $1.25 and now some food items and other household goods are $3 to $5.
Previously, 16 items meant $16 + tax; now 16 items is $20 + tax in California. So, today I went and spent $19.98 because I got shampoo, toilet paper, laundry detergent and a multiple plug outlet. The remaining items were food with a 1 liter of Dr. Pepper at $1.75 plus CRV .10 along with butter, can of tuna, cheese, bologna, drink mix, pasta salad mix, five pack of candy, pancake mix, spaghetti with meatballs canned, and a can of fruit. That 15 items was the $20.
Granted, I have two dollars to go to Grocery Outlet to get a loaf of bread for the cheese and bologna sandwiches. I also have some rice and beans along with other items to make in my pantry. Though I am afraid that the incoming regime will make everyone poor by discontinued funding for vital needs like Social Security, Monetary Policies for FDIC and the Reserve. By making the populace ignorant via targeted Freedom of Speech and Free Press. A flat tax that punishes the poor because 15% Federal Tax would be on everything income, sales, etcetera. The tolitarian regime controlled by an oligarch won't call itself successful for more than five years but, it will decimate the ingenuity and commerce of the North America that will take about two decades to recover from. Then the future is today and there is a tax on food.
Yes, this Tax on Food is technically a good thing because it was to go to strengthening food infrastructure but, the burden isn't being shared equally since the oligarchs are still trying to subvert the tax by buying farm land that would produce food for the less than wealthy populace.
