Show Your Work.
I love a good gaslighting. Its kinda nice when it is done properly.
Here is the thing, now we have to show our work, we can't just spout our thoughts from high atop Mt. Hubris. We gotta have the evidence there to share with all.
So, Learn how to link and maybe learn how to argue or at least convince someone to listen.
You know that book " How to make a friends and influence people" Well, the first step is to listen to people - that is very hard when everyone is talking. Let the other party speak and pay attention. Next, ask them questions maybe about what they said or "could you tell me more about why changing the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America would benefit tourism or trade or change direction of a hurricane? "
(editor's note: the blogger understands changing name of something doesn't stop weather - technically )
Then, if you have time and patience ( Key #1) you state your stance " The Gulf of Mexico was actually established prior to the formation of the Republic of North America and the prior to United States being formed. The Gulf of Mexico is actually nautical history and geographically accurate.
Now, let's say that doesn't make the impact you expect because when sharing the link to the Wikipedia the person interrupts you and says" Oh that's not true" then ask them what would convince them of the factual information that a body of water name isn't privy to just their opinion.
You would be surprised at the answer ....do you have an answer what would convince you that something factual is not true.
If you can answer that utilize that same question in an argument. Because being ignorant is not blissful as many people will tell you from their experience on Tuesday, January 6, 2021.
