Duolingo : I am working to learn lots
Recently, Duolingo tried a tired marketing plan by their mascot demise
Anyway, I have some achievement to share
Nothing to sneeze at but considering that is a three year streak of sorts I am on you think I would be better at speaking Spanish. I am not.
I would like to believe I am actually learning but, here is the thing the program I am on is "free" and two there is no explanation of what I am learning. An Example es v esta or soy v estan I can't tell the difference between the is and are or the term itself.
Also, the challenges are not that hard but, I keep losing ground as I can't keep playing for hours to get thousands of XP's
Then there is the Math portion of it. There is important Math Theory and while I understand it the problem becomes the process of math. You see you can read a problem left to right or as two separate problems or the result of a problem.
Take for instance Duolingo Math said this problem is two separate problems.
40 + .6 but I read the problem as 46 x .1
While technically the answers could be correct, its the Artificial Intelligence assumption that there are two problems when others may see one.
There is important math theory that proves this and the failure to explain it.
Also, if there is a lot of users on Duolingo how its I am faster than 94%? I mean even in a population of 100 people that is pretty small statistic.
Sure, I like the whole getting badges thing but, the problem is the reward isn't that exciting or leveling up.
