The New Old Shopping : Where your dollars go

As we have to not spend our money at businesses that donated to the current regime we must find our trinkets, whats that, hozits elsewhere or as my mom would call them #dustcollectors. Do you think that everyone loved the pair of shoes that you like can't be found at Goodwill? What about Craigslist for that table you say you need? I headed down to a few local shops to find something something I think I needed.

I basically found TREASURE.

From the Cancer Society Store, to the fancy Goodwill in Menlo Park, and I walked into the Community Thrift Store on Valencia street and nearly spent my rent !

The fact we talk about there is too much trash everywhere is not enough. We talk about decluttering but we don't practice what we preach. What happens if Goodwill stopped taking your donations? What happens if the antique store doesn't go to the numerous estate sales ? All that stuff you want to declutter ends up in a landfill.

But someone's trash is someone's treasure! Seriously, I had at one point 100 towels, I have paired it down to 20 but I still purchased some hand towels ! ARRRGH but, I got those second hand.

Also, that shirt with a hole in it, wash it and then cut it up to use a rag then you can reuse that rag. Swedish Towels are just fancier rags that you wash and reuse.

Also, Goodwill and other nonprofits can not take your worn out shoes and Habitat for Humanity can only take products that can be used properly.

So, while you may be finding yourself in a pickle of pile of stuff or in a new place without a table be sure to check out the vintage stores near you.
