Its not good convenience anymore

 There is a lot to be said for the convenience of everything. The problem arises when things that were convenient begin to degrade. I found this to be true when the Jack Daniels and Coca-Cola in a can started to taste way too sweet for me. This is a byproduct that the Jack Daniels would easily after a period of time becoming room temperature either in storage or in transit would start to turn to sugar. The cold can you pulled from the refrigerator is basically sugar all of it. The whiskey would become the syrup to the sucrose and polysaturated sugar in the Coca-Cola thus its just water and sugar by the time you pick it up. The reason for this is that the mix is made in say Georgia, the coastal cities would receive the product in about 7 business days. During the 7 business days the minute the temperature in the can reaches 68 degrees the whiskey starts secondary fermentation, not the fuzzy kind that makes Champagne but the sugary kind that makes simple syrup. How? The Whiskey has already been cooked, but the Coca-Cola hasn't. There the chemical reaction that would happen on your stove top starts in a can. 


Now, the shipment arrives at the distributor in your southern California town, there its "okay" if the temperature reaches 75 degrees. The shipment will sit there at most for about 21 to 35 days. Here where the slow cooking of the whiskey is about sugary. By the time you purchase it at say day 45 you have sugar and maybe 1 ounce of actual whiskey making the beverage undrinkable.  

So, how do you combat this... keep Jack and Coke separated until you can mix the two together with jigger and a glass of ice. Yes, I did write about this on Medium and maybe I should just complain but then like the tree in the forest how would you know it was said?
