Solo Trip down the coast

I am planning my vacation later this year in hopes I won't be a gulag for protesting or protecting another persons freedom. I asked ChatGPT for some activities.

📍Santa Cruz

Vibe: Beachy, laid-back, artsy

Top Activities:

  • Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk: Enjoy nostalgic seaside amusement park vibes, maybe ride the Giant Dipper roller coaster.

  • West Cliff Drive: A scenic walk or bike ride with ocean views; stop at the Surfing Museum.

  • Natural Bridges State Beach: Great for sunset views and tide pooling.

  • Downtown Pacific Avenue: Grab a coffee, explore local boutiques, and maybe catch a movie at the historic Del Mar Theatre.

  • The Mystery Spot: A quirky, offbeat tourist attraction worth checking out if you enjoy the strange and unusual.

📍Paso Robles

Vibe: Wine country charm, relaxed and rustic

Top Activities:

  • Wine Tasting: Paso is famous for Rhône varietals. Try DAOU, JUSTIN, or smaller boutique spots like Herman Story Wines.

  • Sensorio Field of Light (if available): A stunning, immersive light installation in the evenings.

  • Downtown Paso Robles: Shop local artisan goods, grab a meal at Il Cortile Ristorante or Fish Gaucho, and relax at the city park.

  • Hot Springs: Check out River Oaks Hot Springs Spa for a private soak.

  • Mission San Miguel Arcángel: A historic and peaceful stop if you like missions or early California history.

📍Santa Barbara

Vibe: Coastal elegance, artsy, Spanish Revival architecture

Top Activities:

  • Santa Barbara Courthouse: Climb to the top for panoramic views of the city and ocean.

  • State Street Promenade: Walkable downtown area filled with shops, cafes, and galleries.

  • Funk Zone: Hip area near the beach with wine tasting rooms, street art, and local food.

  • Santa Barbara Museum of Art or MOXI (interactive museum if you're feeling playful).

  • Beach Time: Relax at East Beach or Butterfly Beach. You might enjoy a bike ride along the coast, too.

  • Old Mission Santa Barbara: A serene and historic site with lovely gardens.

While ChatGPT was helpful, there is a few things missing like Monterey Dali Museum or going down Highway 1 to Capitola for some Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream
