DuoLingo Teaches me to cheat?

I admit one thing I learned from Jack Dorsey was about a couple of apps. One of them was Duolingo. I admit I paid for one year because it was worth it to me to learn. The only problem was I couldn't pay for the second year or the Super Max program, thus I have been doing the free version now for 3 Years! I understand a bit of written spanish and working in San Francisco you are constantly surrounded by foreign language. So, please note practicing isn't so much an issue as it is regular exercise of language in every day life.

I found myself doing the same lessons over and that counting for the streak or continuing the streak. I would do the same story because I forget the el versus the al or an vos and voy are different.

Sometimes the stories are better way to learn alas for me because of the repetition of the story of one of the characters trip to the hospital or how many flowers there are or something interesting

Duolingo has upgraded quiet a bit since I started it a long time ago. One of the upgrades is to include music and math. This upgrade kept me engaged with the app. I was able to speed through a couple rounds.
There is where I may have learned to cheat the system so to speak.

In the Math problems or situations, its fairly easy to understand and comprehend if you finished algebra in high school. Maybe if you too Algebra 2 or Statistics. Or if you sat in a crowded classroom at a Junior College learning Bookkeeping you would be able to pass Math on Duolingo too....

Except, Duolingo does not teach you the Math Theory behind some of the problems. There is a reason percentages are done a certain way. The math theorem that is missing is pivotal, just like understanding DOS BASIC with Government computer programs. A year is 12 months but if you are trying to find the retirement age of someone born in say born in 1965 but you forget the month date combo you are going to end up with skewered results.

So, you need to know the fraction rules and the percentages because otherwise you get very frustrated with the little green owl

To say I have figured out how to maximize my double points and complete monthly ( now weekly ) weekly challenges is nothing short of skipping class all year long to take the test at home with the answers in the back of the book open and sending in my results to be given an grade of A.

I would hope if I was attending a classroom for 60 minutes for 900 days I would be able to do more than state my name and say lo siento as I fumble my way to ordering a burrito at the local taqueria.
