Good Wine : Rose from France
I finally got the chance to go to Dig in the dogpatch and got some great wines. While I am always thinking of the perfect dish to have with some wines. Sometimes, I have to actually open a wine because I have vlog about it.
Triennes - Rose - Vin de Pays de Mediterranee A blend of Cinsault with Grenache, Syrah and Merlot grapes was delicious to enjoy. I would have had this with a BBQ or even cacio de pepe. I am finding a lot more Cinsault wines in my palate than I planned.I was first introduced to Cinsault by Randall Grahm and Popelouchum has a great bottle to get right now. Alas, that is not what I had.
I enjoyed this wine in effort to clean up some refrigerator space because it had sat in the door unopened for about two weeks and it changed color from the pink to the pale white because the refrigerator is a little too cold to "store" a wine.

While the temperature is high its tempting to whip this bottle around the beach as the family sits around soaking up the sun and telling stories.
The fact I am finding more and more French wines in independent wine stores is interesting to me. The best part is each wine has been fabulous and whether it was with BBQ or slices pears with cinnamon and caramel this wine was an excellent pair cutting through the sweetness.
Yes, 2024 and the alcohol level does bode some reason to not like the wine and as I explain a rose of assorted grapes is a wine maker's technical skill. Especially, when you may not have enough of one grape then you start to match it off and it continues to finally you have a product and its marketable.
Equally, it is interesting the amount of people involved in the process from the grower, to the field pickers to the bottler, to the exporter, to the broker, to the store and finally to me the customer.
Wine is essentially farming and farming is the backbone of the American experience.
While completely reasonable to now go and get a bottle (really get 3) you may want to enjoy it for Halloween and its a great aperitif for Thanksgiving.
