The Next Event : Waves To Wine

While I am trying to stay active and social I have to admit I get burnt out. After participating in the WalkMS San Francisco and San Jose then doing the She.Is.Beautiful Run I kinda did not want to spend time with people. Granted, I can be a social butterfly given the opportunity. I liked volunteering and I really thought I could have run but I don't know how to run so I walked fast. Even then, personally I am was despondent about not fundraising enough or having all the time to volunteer for the WalkMS or that I didn't really "connect" with people for that volunteering.

While I know from my own experience volunteering is a great way to find a job. I don't need a job. So, why am I gearing up for 3 days in Santa Rosa ? Well, the BikeMS Waves To Wine is happening in September.

My reasons for doing this are:

1. It is a Good Cause: MS is an autoimmune disease that we are close to curing and the science and technology for people affected by MS is funded by events like this.

2. Social Butterflying again: It helps that its a full weekend event and I got a hotel and plan to volunteer and hopefully help out a little bit more but if all I do is two 4 hour hour shifts that is fine ( I think we actually do 8 hour shifts but IDK yet)

3. Waves to Wine: Did someone say Wine? Yes, I will be there its always great to support causes and if I can enjoy my other heart delight - wine - way better opportunity.

4. I got the Volunteer Shirt already so I might as well use it.

5. Practice what I preach - I am going to try to do what I say and tell others about. I will have my QR code info so people can scan and just connect. I will be interested in other people and what they do. I will practice my first aid skills? (Reminder between now and then take another first aid class)
